My Hedda Gabler ..if you know what i mean

This was my first time reading this play, I've heard a ton of people talk about it, and it has been used in many of my classes as a reference. I consider myself a bad actor, not because of the quality of my work, but because I am not a fan of reading or writing; I'm working on improving this. This play, was not the easiest for me to read, at times the words seemed to mesh together and I noticed myself reading the same sentences a couple of times. The good thing is, I did overcome. My overall view was the play was positive for the most part, I put it on a high pedestal because it is such a highly recommended play and the quality of the writing was superb. On the other hand, the characters just seemed to annoy me. Mrs. Elvsted is one depressing example, she just seemed to drag everyone down with her; a constant party-pooper.  She is so naive it's repulsive; allowing Hedda to find some dirty gossip about her relationships when she has been bullied by
Hedda in the past. Do not get me started on Mr. Tesman, this fool has no idea what kind of sketchy woman he married. Not only does he not realize that she just uses him, but he doesn't seem to understand Hedda's actions as a whole. The only character that I actually loved, other than Berte, the sweet servant with seemingly unconditional love, is Hedda. not only is she smart like a fox, but she knows what she wants. She made this play, without her I would've stopped reading; I'm glad it's named after her, Ibsen was a smart man.
